Nasarawa State Governor Umaru Tanko Al-Makura has awarded contracts
for the construction of roads at the permanent site campus of Federal
University Lafia (FULafia).
This was made known by the Vice-Chancellor of FULafia, Prof. Muhammad
Sanusi Liman, recently, after he held a meeting with the construction
firm awarded the project.
Al-Makura also awarded a contract for the construction of the road
linking the Federal University Lafia Teaching Hospital (FUTH) in Lafia,
built by the Nasarawa State Government.
Speaking, Prof. Liman said the latest gestures of the governor also
included the donation of additional 100 hectares of land within the
vicinity of FUTH.
It would be recalled that Al-Makura sanctioned the donations of the
Nasarawa State Secretariat building to serve as the take-off site for
the university but donated 206 hectares of land for the construction of
the university’s permanent site, a guest house, vice-chancellor and
registrar’s lodges, a female hostel and an electric transformer.
Prof. Liman commended the staff and students of the university for
maintaining peace, saying the development has greatly improved teaching
and learning.
