The political ward hosting Federal University of Lafia (FULafia), Wakwa Ward, in Lafia L. G. A., has pledged to support the administration of Vice-Chancellor, Professor Shehu Abdul Rahman to ensure peace and development of the University.
The Councillor representing Wakwa Electoral Ward, Bako Abdullahi, gave the assurance when he led other stakeholders of the community on a courtesy visit to the vice-chancellor.
Abdullahi told the vice-chancellor that his community was "happy to see the vice-chancellor, recently, leads his management team's members on the spot assessment to the community to seek for amicable resolution to some of the problems plaguing off-campus students residing in the community.
While commending the vice-chancellor's determination to promote cordiality between FULafia and its neighbouring communities, Abdullahi prayed to God for the vice-chancellor to successfully finish his tenure and take the University to greater heights.
He appealed to the vice-chancellor to consider his ward "when it comes to the issues of admission, employment and contract, saying that doing so would strengthen the existing relationship between the University and Wakwa.
Responding, Abdul Rahman thanked his visitors for finding time to visit him, assuring them of his readiness to address their concerns.
He noted that the University has a good relationship with its neighbouring communities, revealing his intention to make the relationship better.
He appealed to them to consider FULafia students as their sons and daughters and make their stay conducive in their community.
